The building combines handcrafted wood
construction with current requirements for
earthquake stability. In collaboration with
Jeffrey Mills, wood elements were assembled
in patterns to define spaces, functional
elements, and visual character.
Materials and finishes are continuous from the
exterior through to the interior; distinctions of
“rough” and “finish”, “inside” and ”outside”, are
removed in favor of a greater harmony. |
